Florian Sauer and Lydia Ventker took the overall wins at the 26th RiderMan Bad Dürrheim, of one Germany’s largest amateur stage races, held from Friday 04 September to Sunday 06 September 2026 in the Black Forest.
The popular three-day event, organised by Sauser Event GmbH and held alongside the Jan Ullrich Cycling Festival, attracted more than 500 competitors and combined a 16-kilometre time trial with two demanding road stages of roughly 112 and 95 kilometres, each featuring well over 1,200 metres of climbing.
Sauer (Team Strassacker) completed the overall classification in 05:14:14, edging South Africa’s Reinhardt Geyser (Aerobole Steroide), who finished 20 seconds back. Luis-Joe Lührs, also of Aerobole Steroide, rounded out the men’s podium at 2 minutes 9 seconds down. Moritz Palm, Sauer’s Team Strassacker teammate, finished fourth.
In the women’s race, Ventker topped the field in 06:06:47 to claim the general classification title. Lisa Wiessler (Team PopEyes Portixol Group) and Nina Krauter (Ich frag mal Lisa) shared an identical time, 6 minutes 2 seconds behind, with Wiessler awarded second place on countback.
This year’s edition carried extra weight after the 2025 race was disrupted by a mass crash on the road to Biesingen involving up to 60 riders, 50 rescue vehicles and four medical evacuation helicopters.
Organisers responded for 2026 by appointing a dedicated UCI Safety Manager and establishing a joint coordination centre for police, fire and ambulance services — a response that appeared to pay off, with the weekend running without a major incident.
