Since 2019 Gran Fondo Daily has been the worldwide source for the latest amateur cycling news, results, calendars and doping reports. Our articles have been viewed 2,361,284 times as of May 2024.

Started by cyclists, for cyclists and always ad-free, we are a non-profit publication that will never overwhelm readers with advertisements, ask for donations or misguide anyone to register for a Gran Fondo because we were paid to promote it.

Our authors just report the news.

Dan Hood: Our resident Brit, monarchy lover and English professor spent a summer riding across the United States, timing his trip to arrive at Graceland on the anniversary of Elvis’ death alongside 25,000 weeping women dressed in Elvis T-shirts and carrying pictures of The King.

Ron Barrans: A professor of the classics (languages), Ron went to university in Italy to study Latin and fell in love with cycling in the era of toe-clips, downtube friction shifters and Silca classic frame-fit pumps.  Ever since he has been behind bars – handlebars – participating in cycling events whenever and wherever he can.

Craig ‘Coach’ Sakamoto:  Former USA football coach, now just a middle aged man in lycra (MAMIL) who enjoys a good gravel ride… and covering the dirty, gritty side of the sport.

John Woodson: Ex faux pro rider now trying to keep the sport clean by reporting on amateur doping.  Prior to Gran Fondo Daily he spent too many hours playing video games and building Game Informer, one of the largest-circulation magazines in the world.
