The 2026 Highlands Gravel Classic delivered a compelling mix of elite victories and emerging talent, as the Ozarks once again hosted UCI Gravel World Championship qualifying on Saturday. The 67-mile course, known for relentless climbs and minimal recovery, produced high speeds and decisive gaps across categories.

In the elite men’s race, Daxton Mock (USA) claimed victory in 3:25:37, averaging 19.7 mph. The Wisconsin rider used sustained pressure on the climbs to distance his rivals, continuing his upward trajectory in North American gravel racing. Lance Lakoski (USA) finished second at +1:46, with Oscar Mauricio Pachon Melo (USA) third at +6:15. Veteran pro Ted King placed sixth, highlighting the depth of the field.

However, the standout performances of the day came from 17-year-old local rider Brandon Parrish (USA). Racing in the Men 14–18 category, Parrish clocked 3:26:23—just 46 seconds slower than Mock—making him the second-fastest rider across all categories on the day. Despite the remarkable result, Parrish is below the minimum age required to compete at the UCI Gravel World Championships, underlining both his potential and the limitations of age-based eligibility.

In the elite women’s race, Jenna Rinehart (USA) secured victory in 3:50:17, reinforcing her reputation as one of the event’s most consistent performers. Emily Newsom (USA) took second (+4:40), while Canada’s Dylan Baker completed the podium (+17:22).

With the top 25% of category finishers qualifying for the 2026 worlds, the Highlands Gravel Classic showcased both established world championship worthy riders and the sport’s next generation.
