The 17th edition of Mallorca 312 OK Mobility delivered razor-thin margins and exciting international competition across all three distances on Saturday, with 8,500 riders completing courses closed to traffic on the roads of the Serra de Tramuntana.

On the headline 312km route, Britain’s Luke Barfoot won in 8:45:28, edging Germany’s Albrecht Anton by just two-tenths of a second in a furious sprint finish after more than eight hours of racing. Yannick Ruschmeier (GER) completed the podium at 8:45:41. Defending champion Adam Roberge (CAN) finished eighth. In the women’s 312km, Germany’s Janine Meyer took the win in 9:09:45, with Britain’s Victoria Stansfield a distant second and Catherine Rossmann (GER) third.

The 226km race produced perhaps the most dramatic finish of the day — the top four men separated by just half a second. David Lopez Garcia (ESP) won in 6:31:28, with Kai Neumann (GER) second, Niels Merckx (BRU) third and Alejandro Martinez Marin (ESP) just missing out on the podium. Czech rider Barbora Besperat won the women’s 226km in 7:09:44.

On the 167km Piccolo Fondo, Benjamin Witt (GER) took men’s honours in 4:38:28 in a near dead-heat with local rider Juan Carlos Riutort Martinez (+0.5s). The women’s win went to 23-year-old Marina Garau Roca (ESP) in 4:48:38 — a home victory that will have energised the crowd at Platja de Muro.

Honorary bib 312 holder and Tour de France champion Jan Ullrich was among the thousands still on the road as results were posted, the 17th edition already confirming its status as one of the calendar’s unmissable gran fondo events.
