Michal Podlaski (Poland, HS Cycling Team) and Julia Jehle (Germany, Karlsruhe) claimed the fastest times of the day at the UCI 3RIDES Gran Fondo, held Saturday 25 April 2026 in Schweigen-Rechtenbach on 100-kilometers of Germany’s Southern Wine Route.
Podlaski led the men’s overall standings in 2:15:25, with a notable name just six seconds behind him. Stefan Kirchmair (Kirchmair Coaching)— Austrian architect, coach, and former UCI Gran Fondo World Champion finished second in 2:15:31, with Jurgen Van Trijp (Netherlands) third at +0:29. Lukasz Wisniowski (Poland, HS Cycling Team) came fourth at +0:41 and Marc Klein (Germany) fifth at +1:01.
Podlaski himself brings considerable pedigree. The 37-year-old former professional represented Poland at the 2014 UCI Road World Championships and podiumed at the Polish National Championships road race that same year. Now racing on the UCI Gran Fondo World Series circuit, his win ahead of a former world champion signals the highly competitive nature of gran fondo racing.
On the women’s side, Jehle was the fastest woman overall, regardless of category, posting 2:23:08 to win the Women 45-49 class — edging women’s elite winner Lieselotte Van Nuffelen (Belgium, Serso Gravelbiketeam), who crossed in 2:23:58. Cynthia Morguet (Germany) was second at +0:07, with Lea-Sophie Rammert (Germany, ABUS-SYNERGY) third at +1:12.
Both winners qualify for front row starting positions at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships later this year in Japan, where the top 25 percent of each age group from World Series qualifiers compete for the rainbow jersey.
