The L’Etape by Tour de France worldwide gran fondo series rolled into the heart of Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region on Sunday, with over 1400 riders participating in the inaugural L’Etape Parma.

Manuel Senni (TEAM CRAINOX) soloed across the finish line with time to celebrate, including a victory salute to the crowd of tifosi. The 32 year-old former Team BMC pro rider and veteran of four Giro d’Italia finished the 140km route with 2800m of climbing in 3:56:32. Giuseppe Orlando earned second place in 4:00:15, followed by Marco Rinaldi at 4:02:44.

Giulia Medri (MG.K VIS-PROMOTECH) won the women’s race in 4:28:27, Michela Santini and Marine Lenehan finished on the podium in second and third place respectively.

Next up in the L’Etape by Tour de France worldwide series of amateur gran fondo races is L’Etape Las Vegas in the USA and L’Etape Melaka in Malaysia, both on 5 May.
