This weekend the first ever UCI Gravel World Championship takes place in Veneto, Italy with 556 cyclists from 39 countries competing for world championship titles and highly coveted rainbow jerseys.
The Women’s Pro/Elite race will be held Saturday on a flat and fast 140 kilometers long course, while the Men’s Pro/Elite field will battle over a 194km route on Sunday, both races start in Vicenza and finish nearby in Cittadella.

Amateur riders will race at the same time as the professionals, starting in later waves, all battling for a UCI world title in age/gender categories (19-34, 35-39 and then in five-year increments). Amateur women, as well men 50+, race on Saturday for 140km, while men 19-49 race on Sunday for 167km.
The Men’s Pro/Elite field includes some of the world’s best road, cyclocross and MTB riders: Mathieu Van der Poel (NED), Alban Lakata (AUT), Peter Sagan (SVK), Greg Van Avermaet (BEL), Alexey Lutsenko (KAZ), Magnus Cort Nielsen (DEN), Zdeněk Štybar (CZE), Davide Ballerini (ITA) and Daniel Oss (ITA).
