Australian amateur road cyclists competed for National Championship titles on Saturday 15 January Ballarat, Australia, just one day before professional riders will line up to do the same.

With the amateur gran fondo field limited to 500 riders every starting bib was sold out. Racing multiple 11.6km laps on the iconic Mt. Buninyong road course with a challenging climb each lap, the field quickly broke up with riders finishing solo or in small groups.
