The Colombian Anti-Doping Organization (ONAD) has added two more cyclists to the Federación Colombiana de Ciclismo’s register of sanctioned riders, updated on Friday 11 September 2026. The list now contains 23 names.
César Nicolás Paredes Avellaneda, 34, has been banned for three years, from 06 May 2026 until 05 May 2029, after an in-competition sample returned a stanozolol metabolite, an anabolic steroid byproduct. The federation records the sample collection date as Sunday 26 October 2025 — the day the Bogotá-born climber, riding for Guatemalan team Hino One-La Red Suzuki, won stage three of the Vuelta a Guatemala.
Paredes soloed clear over the closing climbs to win the 126km stage from Progreso to Fraijanes in 03:30:25, finishing more than a minute ahead of the next riders. He previously won the 2017 Vuelta de Chile and the 2018 Vuelta a Michoacán, and more recently placed fifth overall at the 2023 Vuelta a San Juan.
Yeny Lorena Colmenares, 35, has received a 24-month ban from Colombia’s national anti-doping organisation, running from 27 July 2026 to 26 July 2028. Her entry cites whereabouts failures, which typically involve three missed tests and/or filing failures within a rolling 12-month period, rather than an analytical positive.
The Duitama rider won the Colombian national road title in 2021 and the 2021 Vuelta Femenina a Guatemala, and represented Colombia at the 2021 World Championships.
As Gran Fondo Daily News reported in April, Colombia’s anti-doping caseload has been climbing steadily. Neither rider has publicly commented.
