Lienz, Austria hosted the 38th Dolomitenradrundfahrt and 11th SuperGiroDolomiti on Sunday 14 June 2026, with more than 2,000 riders from 26 nations taking on the roads of Osttirol. Amid record-breaking performances at the front, the day’s standout story belonged to a 15-year-old.

Switzerland’s Mic Willy finished fourth overall in the 112 km Dolomitenradrundfahrt, crossing the line with the lead group in 02:50:14, less than a second shy of the podium. Kufstein’s Max Kuen won the race for a record fifth time, taking the sprint ahead of Jan Kattanek and former WorldTour professional Johnny Hoogerland, with Willy close behind in fourth as part of the decisive nine-rider breakaway.

Notably, Willy’s time comfortably eclipsed the mark set by Felix Gall — now a Giro d’Italia contender — when Gall rode the same event at age 15 and finished in 03:15:00.

Off the bike, Willy has already built an impressive winter sports résumé, including Swiss U14 cross-country skiing national titles and multiple podium finishes in the Swiss Bike Cup mountain bike series since 2021. According to his profile with the Swiss Sporthilfe foundation, his immediate goal is to continue developing in cycling while completing his education, with longer-term ambitions of representing Switzerland at major international championships.

The performance immediately marked Willy as a rider to watch in the junior ranks. Race organisers and several Austrian media outlets highlighted comparisons with Gall’s early performances as a sign of genuine promise, although the teenager is still in the early stages of his development. Willy is expected to return to domestic age-category racing before making any move into higher-level senior competition.

The Dolomitenradrundfahrt women’s race was won by defending champion Daniela Traxl-Pintarelli in 03:09:03, ahead of Lena Zeiringer and Corina Pichler. In the longer 218 km SuperGiroDolomiti, former Austrian World Cup luge athlete Miguel Brugger claimed a surprise solo victory in 06:30:24, while Belgium’s Ils van der Moeren set a new women’s course record.
