Thibaut Clement, 32, and Hugoline Roger, 29, claimed dominant victories at the sixth edition of L’Ornaise, held on Sunday 10 May 2026 in Argentan, Normandy, drawing more than 300 amateurs to the start line of the flagship cyclosportive through the rolling bocage of the Orne department.

The course covered 140 kilometres with 1,618 metres of elevation gain, starting and finishing in Argentan. Since its founding in 2021, L’Ornaise has rapidly established itself as one of Normandy’s leading cycling events.

In the men’s race, Clement (Team Materiel-Velo.com) crossed the line in 3:31:50, averaging 41.07 km/h. Victorien Gontier-Durand (VC Bocage Vire) took second, 3 minutes 21 seconds behind, with Hugo Mulon (CA Evron) third at 6 minutes 31 seconds. A tight battle for fourth through seventh saw four riders contest the minor placings, with Charles Bechet, Olivier Chartrain, Elliot Moisseron and Cyprien Gilles finishing in that order in 3:38:25.

The women’s race was more decisive. French cyclocross racer Hugoline Roger (Briouze Cyclisme Compétition) soloed to victory in 4:05:39, averaging 35.42 km/h, finishing 17 minutes 10 seconds ahead of runner-up Marine Lemey (WATT Cycling Club). Morane Gaucher (Vélo Club du Bocage) completed the podium at 28 minutes 29 seconds.

Clement’s victory underlined his outstanding recent form. In June 2025 he won a second consecutive UEC European Gran Fondo title at Saint-Félicien, finishing the demanding 180km route in 4:56:50. He then backed that up in August by winning the men’s competition at L’Etape du Tour Femmes in 3:49:04, taking the yellow champion’s jersey atop the Col de la Madeleine. The Argentan victory on Sunday carried added significance for Clement, who now lives in Annecy but is originally from Normandy.
