887 British cyclists, plus a few from abroad, showed their early season fitness (or non-fitness) at Hell of the Ashdown sportive on Sunday 22 February in Westerham, just south of London.

Although a mere 58 miles in length, with 9 categorized climbs totaling over 4600 feet of vertical ascent/descent, Hell of the Ashdown is not easy peasy nor a roll in the park – especially in typical British drizzle on gritty roads.

Though, former road racer Tom Lawson made it look easy by finishing solo over six minutes ahead of all other competitors in 3:00:56!

Women’s Continental Team pro Lucy Harris (DRAFT RACING) had the second fastest time of 3:07:14, while finishing first for the woman.

Steve De Boos (3:08:11), Ramsey Kechacha (3:10:37), Sandy Forksa (3:10:46), Will Metuhezs (3:10:47), Thomas Halmood (3:12:44) and Yoann Le Guellec (3:13:41) rounded out the Top 8 finishers.
