On Saturday it was an all French men’s podium at the third edition of UCI 66 Degres Sud cyclosportive in Southern France, with 2022 UCI Amateur Time Trial Champion Loick Dussol standing high atop the top podium and qualifying to attend the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships.
From a group of four French riders arriving at the finish together after 164 kilometers of racing, Dussol still had enough left in his legs to outsprint the others in a photo finish. He crossed the final timing mat in 4:24:02.3, followed by Roger Gabriel (4:24:02.4), Alexandre De Marans (4:24:02.7) and Florentin Belanger (4:24:03.0). It is Dussol’s second in a row victory at the 66 Degres Sud cyclosportive, a UCI Gran Fondo World Series event.
Axelle Dubau-Prevot (4:37:55) won the women’s category and also qualified to attend the annual world championships.
Over 1400 riders participated in event, with those finishing in the top 25% of their age/gender category automatically qualifying to the race in the 2023 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Scotland next August.
