With only a final blessing on Thursday from the city council remaining, Dundee, Scotland is set to host the 2023 UCI Gran Fondo World Championship Time Trial on the A92 motorway between Dundee and Arbroath, according to the Scottish news site The Courier.

Three days after neighboring Perth hosts the 2023 UCI Gran Fondo World Championship Road Races, the amateur time trial competition is expected to take place Monday 7 August on a very fast, flat and smooth 26.8 kilometers long route, with only 137 meters of elevation gain. The races will start and finish just to the east of the Panmurefield Village roundabout and complete an out-and-back run to Muirdrum, including 61m (out) and 76m (back) of elevation gain.

Over 600 competitors are expected roll down the start house ramp, with each rider/bike meeting new UCI 1-2-3 technical regulations based on rider height.

To participate in the world championship time trial, amateur riders must first qualify at a UCI Gran Fondo World Series event and finish in the top 20% of their age/gender category.

Dundee is a 30 minute and 35 kilometer drive from the 2023 UCI Gran Fondo World Championship event headquarters in Perth.
