With only 4000 starting bibs available for the always sold-out Ötztaler Cycling Marathon in Austria, would-be participants better act now and enter the 42nd bib lottery that opens 1 November 2022.

Cost to enter the lottery is 5.90 euros with draw taking place in mid-December for the 42nd edition of the amateur race scheduled 9 July 2023, two months earlier than previous editions.

Considered one of the hardest and most prestigious amateur cycling events in the world, the Ötztaler includes four arduous alpine passes in the Austrian-Italian Alps that are sure to put fear in every participant. The 227 kilometer bucket-list route with over 5500 meters vertical ascent rolls from Sölden up through the Kühtai, Brenner, Jaufen and Timmelsjoch passes before finishing back in Sölden.
