Brave cyclists from throughout Chile took on a challenging course in epic conditions on the beautiful Chiloé archipelago, located just off the country’s Pacific coast, at Chiloé EPIC Gran Fondo on Sunday.

Starting and finishing in Plaza de Achao on the island of Quinchao, the 94 kilometre undulating route with 1600 metres climbing rolled through towns lined with raincoat wearing spectators including Achao and Curaco de Vélez, Putique, Coñab, Tolquien and Changüitad.

26 year-old Pedro Chelech (Trentino Sport) won the men’s race with a total time  of 2:53:00, while Francisca Donoso (Squadra Bretti) won the women’s race in 03:17:41.
