If you were not one of the lucky 16,000 cyclists to get a starting bib for the 2022 Etape du Tour de France gran fondo taking part alongside the Tour de France on 10 July 2022, L’Etape has announced two other European events – L’Etape Madrid and L’Etape Granada in Spain.
L’Étape Madrid will be held on 3 July and L’Étape Granada on 23 October. Registration is only €49 each starting Monday 17 January and includes one of the best Covid cancellation guarantees of any gran fondo.
If the event is cancelled or postponed due to Covid circumstances, the organiser will automatically save your bib if the event is rescheduled or for the next edition. And, if for any reason you cannot attend on the new date, you can get a full L’Etape registration refund.
L’Etapa Madrid on 3 July will offer two routes: a 162 kilometres gran fondo with 2900 vertical meters an a medio fondo of 112 kilometres with 1900 vertical metres. Both start and finish in the town of Villanueva del Pardillo on the northwest side of Madrid. .
L’Etape Granada on 23 October will also have two routes: 176 kilometres including 2600 metres climbing and 131km with 2000m climbing, both starting and finishing at the Palacio de Congresos in the capital of Granada.
