Looking for an epic gravel ride in the Alps? How about racing over a 200km Mont Blanc gravel circuit while taking in more than 8500m of climbing through the stunning Alps? If you do, then the 2022 Gravel Tour du Mont Blanc is just what you need.
The route includes “alternating rustic and gravel roads, including singletrack, forest paths and hike ‘n bike sectors in wide-ranging conditions.” The organiser plans to take participants over eight high Alpine cols, including two that reach over 2500 metres in elevation – Col de la Seigne and the Grand Col Ferret .
The event departs from the French mountain town of Megève on Saturday 3 September 2022 and will traverse through three countries France, Italy and Switzerland (i.e. “The Roof of Europe”), while taking in glaciers, torrents, valleys and alpine passes on one of the toughest gravel courses in the world.
The 200km event is open to duo teams (teams of two) who will race “relay” style over the entire distance. Solo riders can race in a 100km version, while there is also a non-competitive 70km.
Registration for the event opens on 1 January 2022 HERE.
