After a five year gap, the world renowned Look Cycle company that started the clipless pedal revolution plans to bring back their La Look Cyclosportive on 22 May 2022 in Nevers, France.

Last held in 2016 the new event will be the 14th edition of the classic cyclosportive made famous by the presence of Tour de France superstars Bernard Hinault, Greg Lemond and Laurent Jalabert, who played big roles in the development of the Look brand and its innovative products.

Look is partnering with event organiser the French Run, who also puts on the annual Nevers Marathon, to host two events. The first will be La Look Gravel on 26 September 2021, followed by La Look Cyclosportive on 22 May 2022.

The gravel event will offer two distances: 23 and 70 kilometres. “We want to engage the participants on the towpaths, in the forests, on the banks of the Loire…”, announced organiser Antoine De Wilde, founder of the French Run.

On Sunday 22 May 2022, La Look Cyclosportive will be back on its traditional asphalt routes of 60 and 140 kilometres, starting and finishing at the Look factory in Nevers.

“I remember having met Laurent Jalabert at the start of a Look cyclosportive. The goal is for champions to join the peloton,” added De Wilde.

Riders will also have the opportunity to walk through the Look museum filled with history making bikes from the Tour de France: the Look KG86 with carbon tubes and aluminum lugs ridden in 1986 by Hinault & Lemond, the KG96 bike upon which Jalabert won the Tour de France green jersey in 1992 and the KG281 upon which Jalabert won the polka-dot climber’s jersey in 2001.

Registration for the gravel event opened 1 July with a limited 100 bibs available for the 23 kilometre ride and 200 bibs for the 70 kilometre. Registrations for the 2022 cyclosportive will open on the day of La Look Gravel, Saturday 26 September.
