Under beautiful Pacific Northwest skies pro gravel racer Peter Stetina and cyclo-cross queen Rebecca Fahringer, just back from the 2021 UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships in Belgium, rolled to victory at the 12th edition of Oregon’s Gorge Gravel Grinder race in the USA.

31 year-old Fahringer (KONA MAXXIS SHIMANO) defeated USA National Cyclo-cross Champion and fourth place Cyclo-cross worlds finisher Clara Honsinger (CANNONDALE CYCLOCROSSWORLD.COM) by almost ten minutes on the 93 mile course, including 55 miles of gravel roads and 7330′ of vertical climbing. Fahringer finished in 4:58:05 with Honsinger at 5:07:45 and Jennifer Luebke (TEAM TWENTY24) next at 5:22:37.

Peter Stetina (LET’S PRIVATEER) soloed to victory from his breakaway companions Stephen Mull (CANYON BIKES) and Jack Bardi (GATEWAY DEVO) with 20 miles to go and crossed the finish line in 4:11:07, with Mull 4:13:16 and 21 year-old Bardi over eight minutes back at 4:19:44.

Robert Tornai won the shorter 41-mile event in 3:20:05 with Angharad Porteous the first women at 3:59:40.

313 graveleurs participated in the race that started and finished in the tiny town of Dufur (population 610), just south of the might Columbia River Gorge and surrounding snowcapped Cascade Mountains.
