Amateur cyclists will have to wait till April 2022 to shake, rattle and roll over Paris-Roubaix’s famous cobblestones and 172 kilometres of Flemish Hell before finishing in the mythical Vélodrome de Paris-Roubaix.

Tour de France and Paris-Roubaix organizer ASO confirmed the amateur Paris-Roubaix Challenge planned for 4 April, one week before the professional race, has been cancelled.

“Unfortunately, given the situation at the beginning of this year, the organization, in consultation with the local authorities, has taken the difficult decision not to organize an edition of the Paris-Roubaix Challenge in 2021 and to see you again in 2022 in the Hell of the North!,” ASO announced.

Pre-registration for the 2022 Paris-Roubaix Challenge tentatively planned for Sunday 3 April is now open.
