The hope is that on that date the pandemic and coronavirus are just distant memories, allowing amateur cyclists from across the world to race on the stunning and difficult chalky white gravel roads of Tuscany.

In any case, the Organizing Committee and the Italian Municipality of Siena have announced the date for the 2021 edition of the legendary Strade Bianche Gran Fondo is Sunday 12 September.

“The new date has been set for cycling, enjoying the splendid scenery of the Crete Senesi and visiting Siena and its surroundings. The date has already been approved in the calendar by the Italian Cycling Federation, with the confidence of being able to organize everything in greater safety and guarantee the numbers foreseen in past editions ,” the organizing committee announced.

Even with a field limit of 6500 riders, every edition of the race has sold-out, but some registration slots are still available for 85 Euros.

Cyclists already registered for the cancelled 2020 edition may transfer entry to September 2021, September 2022 or to another person.

If the event is cancelled, registered riders will not receive refunds, but may transfer entry to 2022.
