Just days before Stage 6 of the Tour de France finishes high atop Mont Aigoual in a stage that is sure to shake up the GC leader board, amateur riders had the opportunity to do the same at the 21st Cycl’Aigoual cyclosportive.

The 125km amateur race on 31 August included the last 50 kilometres Tour riders will ride on Thursday 3 September.  35 of those kilometres are uphill, including Catgeory 1 Col de la Luzette with pitches exceeding 15%, followed by a relatively “flat’ 7 kilometres at 6% to the finish line top Mont Aigoual.

93 cyclists participated in the 125km race, while another 144 rode a shorter 95km course which also included the Col de la Luzette/Mont Aigoual climb.
