Race organizer Mudslinger Events put extra COVID-19 measures in place to assure rider safety during this year’s competition.
“Two-and-a-half bike lengths, that’s how close you should be to somebody,” Mudslinger owner Mike Ripley announced. “We’re going to be doing a self-start. We have a three-hour time window to start everybody. Everybody is not going to arrive at the same time. That’s important for safety.”
Legendary Landshark frame builder John Slawta took part in the gran fondo and finished 3rd in the 55-59 mens category with a time of 6:03:25.
