On of Italy’s biggest cycling stars, Damiano Cunego, will be at the traditional first Italian granfondo of the season – Granfondo Laigueglia by Lapierre.
In 2004 at age 22 Cunego won the Giro d’Italia, 2008 the Amstel Gold Race, and the Fall Classic Giro di Lombardia three times (2004, 2007, 2008). Also, with 18 years on the World Tour before retiring at age 36, Cunego is one of the most respected professional riders.

Cunego will be available to meet tifosi, sign autographs and answer questions from 15:00 – 16:00 in the Granfondo Laigueglia expo area in Laigueglia, Italy on Saturday, February 22.
Granfondo Laigueglia takes place the next day, Sunday, on 120km of closed roads with 1780m vertical sure to test each gran fondo rider’s early season form. Offering more climbing than in past editions, this year’s race is expected to be one of the most difficult.
