If the answer is yes, yes, then plan to be in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, USA on August 23, 2020 for Race The Lake.
Race the Lake is a gran fondo style mass start cycling race started in 2008 that is now one of the largest cycling events in the Mid-Western USA. Over 750 riders participated in 2019.
Cyclists of all abilities, from professionals to beginners, race 88 miles around Lake Winnebago every year in August, trying to break the course record of 27.7mph and win a $1000 cash prize.
Breaking the record, put simply, is damn hard. Wolfgang Brandl won the race in 2019 with an average speed of 26.4mph – well off the record.
Nonetheless, $1000 is up for grabs in 2020.
