The 2020 historic 50th edition of Gran Fondo of Cesenatico, better known as Nove Colli, sold 10,000 registration slots in 10 minutes.

The first rider to register for the gran fondo was Belgian Eric Borghs.  He and 10,000 others now have the opportunity to ride over the same roads and route that professional riders will race in Stage 12 of the 2020 Giro di Italia.  Both Stage 12 and Nove Colli will start and finish in Cesenatico.

83-year old Remo Lippantini from Terni was the first Italian to register. “I did the Nove Colli for fifteen years,” he explained, “and I joined again because it is the 50th anniversary and it is a good party.”

2,000 more registrations will be available on November 19, but riders must purchase a gran fondo-hotel combination package for the weekend.  Also, on the same day a waiting list for the 50th edition will be opened, from which new participants will be drawn in case of cancellations.
