Austria is home to several incredibly tough gran fondos, or as German and Austrian riders call them radmarathons.  Tucked high away in the Allgäu Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol is the beautiful Tannheimer Tal valley, host to the Radmarathon Tannheimer Tal.

Nicknamed “Beauty and the Beast,” the event is 220km long with 3500m of climbing that takes riders through awe-inspiring Austrian storybook landscapes.  This year 550 riders rode through sunshine, pouring rain, gravel segments and many, many climbs to reach the finish.
