Calling all speed demons, aero geeks and soon-to-be-Pros.
GFNY New York is offering a $10,000 prize to the first rider completing the gran fondo course in 4 hours or less on May 19.

The 100-mile course runs from New York City to Bear Mountain and back with 8500′ climbing. So, you’ll need to average a pretty quick 25mph to get paid.
Recent GFNY winning times are well shy of the 4hr mark – 4hrs15min (2015), 4hrs30min (2016), 4hrs:28min (2017), 4hrs:22min (2018) – and even Tour de France pro riders usually do not average 25mph on similarly difficult mountain stages in the Alps. Yet, with a focused, dedicated and strong team effort the $10,000 prize might be within reach.
Go for it!
