This week’s North American featured event is Canada’s newest gran fondo, Kootenay Lake Gran Fondo nestled in the heart of beautiful British Columbia in the Creston Valley. It starts in Creston, alongside the rugged Skimmerhorn Mountain Range and 65-mile long Kootenay Lake on September 21.
The 95-mile route on lightly travel rural roads with stunning lake shore views filled with spectacular fall colors is sure to make riders ooh and ahh. Plus, as part of Creston’s weekend-long food festival and farmers market riders might also put on a few pounds for winter.
Offering a warmer climate in Canada’s banana belt – only 5-hours drive from Calgary – Kootenay Lake Gran Fondo plans to deliver a breathtaking and challenging end of season event for riders of all abilities.
Gran fondo-ing in British Columbia in September, duh, that’s a no-brainer.
