Gravel Grit ‘n Grind Halmstad will no longer take place in August. Organisers confirmed that the Swedish event is moving from its original dates of 15-16 August to the weekend of 26-27 September, citing administrative delays in the permit approval process.
The change pushes the race deeper into the autumn calendar, but the format remains unchanged. The two-day event and course routes through Halland’s mix of coastal farmland and forest gravel roads will stay as originally planned, with Sunday’s race forming part of the Nordic Gravel Series. Saturday’s race also retains its status as an official qualifier for the October 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships in Australia, meaning riders pursuing a world championship start spot can still qualify in Halmstad.
The event has established itself as one of the tougher stops on the UCI Gravel World Series calendar. Last year’s edition saw Jordan Habets claim overall victory in 03:56:30, with Anton Stensby finishing just seconds behind in second place. Femke Markus won the women’s race in 04:34:53 after a closely contested sprint finish.
Riders already registered for the event should watch for updated travel and logistical information from organisers as the new date approaches.
