Note: An earlier version of this article listed the overall winner as OM.CC rider Alexander Worsdale, who finished fourth, rather than teammate Federico Borella.
Italian powerhouse OM.CC tightened its grip on the Michelob ULTRA GFNY World Championship NYC on Sunday 17 May 2026, claiming both elite amateur titles and securing a third consecutive men’s victory for the squad on the demanding roads north of New York City.
The 14th edition of the event once again attracted riders from more than 70 countries, reinforcing its status as one of the world’s most international gran fondos. Starting from the George Washington Bridge, competitors tackled the rolling terrain of Bergen County and Rockland County before the decisive climbs of Gate Hill and Cheesecote.
Italy’s Federico Borella delivered the winning move late in the race after a fierce battle involving teammate Alexander Worsdale and former professional riders Luis Lemus Davila and Flavio De Luna. Borella crossed the line in 03:34:30, with Lemus finishing 1 minute 23 seconds later and De Luna arriving a further 43 seconds behind.
In the women’s race, Martina Cavallo completed OM.CC’s clean sweep in 03:45:01. Fellow Italian Anna Ceoloni finished 27 seconds down, while Flor Espiritusanto of the Dominican Republic rounded out the podium in 04:00:02
The event also hosted the UCI-sanctioned Gran Premio New York City professional race, won by Costa Rica’s Sebastian Brenes in a reduced sprint after 135 kilometres of aggressive racing.
