Nick Kleban of Montréal and Elly Moore of Collingwood claimed the top honours at the 31st Paris to Ancaster (P2A) on Sunday 26 April 2026, winning Canada’s largest gravel event with 1,800 riders taking on farm lanes, gravel roads, and muddy trails between the towns of Paris and Ancaster near Hamilton, Ontario.
Kleban crossed the line after 110 kilometres of gritty racing in 3:06:26 with an average speed of 36.0 km/h, finishing 12 seconds ahead of Tyler Clark and 15 seconds clear of Ethan Powell in third. Patrick Frank was fifth in 3:06:59, with former pro Peter Disera placing sixth at 3:07:05.
In the women’s competition, Moore delivered the win in 3:24:47, nearly 47 seconds clear of fellow Collingwood rider Julia Lehmann. Lizzy Gunsalus completed the podium in 3:26:02.
Tom Lawson — only 16 years old — of North Bay claimed the men’s 70km race in 2:01:39, with Simon Wagler second at +51 seconds and Andrew Lambert third at +54 seconds. Reid Coolsaet — a two-time Canadian Olympic marathon runner making a notable appearance on two wheels — placed seventh in 2:04:03.
The women’s 70km race was equally tight. Anna Christensen of Peterborough won in 2:08:30, edging Hannah Lehmann by just six seconds. Nicole Haviland completed the podium in 2:09:12.
The race traverses the Grand River Valley and the Niagara Escarpment, culminating in the climb up Old Martin Road, with Southern Ontario’s notoriously unpredictable April conditions helping P2A earn the title of Canada’s Spring Cycling Classic.
