The startlist for the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships beginning Saturday 11 October in the Netherlands has been released (below) with over 2500 entrants, priority box starts for a select few and big field sizes.

At press time the largest field is the Men’s 19-34 category with a jaw-dropping 600+ riders planning to line up on Sunday morning for a 180 kilometer race. Joining them are 274 Elite Men, 308 Men 35-39, 276 Men 40-44 and 280 Men 45-49.

On Saturday the largest field is 263 Men aged 50-54 racing for 131 kilometers along with 122 Elite Women, as well as the remaining women and men age group categories.

Riders not lucky enough to earn a priority box start must line up early, very early, likely many hours ahead of their start time, to have any chance of avoiding mayhem and remaining in contact with the front of their race.

Although fields will start apart, separated by a few minutes, UCI rules allow different race categories to merge, cooperate, work together and race together during the remainder of the race.

Countries with the largest number of entrants include the Netherlands at 538, Belgium 502, Great Britain 345, Germany 338, and France at 208. The USA, which is considered the birthplace of gravel racing has only 117 participants.
