Amateur Jack Burke continued his European campaign this week to earn a WorldTour pro contract by stealing another epic Strava KOM from a grand tour winner.

The 29 year-old Canadian added Alpe d’Huez to his Strava KOM palmarès, climbing the world famous 21 hairpins in 35:56, besting Vuelta a España champion Sepp Kuss’s timen by nine seconds.

“I just want a chance at the WT. Anyone, anywhere, anytime. I’ll do whatever you want, I just want a chance against the best guys.” Burke posted on Strava.

It is the second Strava KOM Burke has stolen from a grand tour winner in as many weeks as part of his social media blitz campaign to gain entry to the sport’s top tier. He now holds the KOMs on Italy’s iconic Mortirolo, taken from 3x grand tour winner Vincenzo Nibali, as well as France’s Alpe d”Huez.

Previously, Burke raced for several elite teams from 2016 – 2022 before switching to gran fondos, cyclosportives and radmarathons. He is a two time winner (2024 & 2022) of Austria’s 235km Ötztaler Radmarathon, one of the world’s most prestigious amateur races.
