On the eve of this year’s European Cycling Union (UEC) Gravel Championships taking place in Italy this weekend, the UEC has announced host venues for 2026 and 2027 – Houffalize, Belgium and Lahti, Finland.
“Houffalize is a historic venue for Off-Road cycling, having already hosted numerous top-level competitions. We are convinced that its tradition and natural setting will offer athletes and enthusiasts a unique experience in 2026”, UEC President, Enrico Della Casa said via press release.
Adding, “Lahti, on the other hand, represents an absolute novelty: for the first time, a UEC European Championships will be held in Finland. The breathtaking scenery of this region will make the 2027 event an extraordinary experience for athletes and spectators alike.”
Event organizer Golazo will handle details for both championship events, leveraging their past success doing the same at the 2023 UEC Gravel European Championships and 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships last weekend in Belgium.
As with the European UEC Gran Fondo Championships, amateur age group riders need only register to race and take their shot at winning a prized blue and white UEC European Champion’s jersey highlighted with yellow stars.
While 2026 and 2027 championship venues are now set, plans for the 2025 edition have not been announced.
