Under Wyoming’s iconic Grand Teton peak Aileen Pannecouke (LA SWEAT RACING) won the 327km Logan-To-Jackson Classic (LOTOJA) women’s road race this past weekend for a third time.
The 27 year-old Belgian, who won in 2021 and 2022, powered across the line to win in a photo finish, with five challengers all crossing within 0.51 seconds to record a final time of 9:43:26. Jennifer Halladay, Katie Bonebrake, Sarah Esmeir, Lori Castagnetto and Marilyn Chychota rounded out the top six.
After finishing second last year, it was 32 year-old Utahn Danny Van Wagoner who launched a powerful sprint in the final meters to win the men’s race from an eight rider group. The elite MTB racer finished in 8:50:24, with Adrain Rips, Eric Ellis, Gilberto Melendez, Jess Clapier, Jesse Hogin, Matthew Clark and Matthew Lefthand next in that order.
1500 riders participated in the 42nd LOTOJA Classic, the longest one-day race in America at 327km with over 3000 meters of elevation change, from Logan, Utah through southeastern Idaho to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The 2025 edition is tentatively scheduled to take place 6 September.
