In only its second season the Gravel Earth Series (GES) has grown from a handful of events to 20 exciting epic off-road races in 13 countries, with a €12,500 total prize purse.

Kicking off in Spain on 16 February at X Santa Vall and concluding 13 October at Ranxo back in Spain, the series offers events all across Europe, North America, South America, Iceland and Africa.

The overall points based series will be scored using the best two scores from Gravel Earth and Gravel Earth Global events, plus points earned from the Gravel Earth Final – Ranxo in Spain.

According to the GES website: “When we talk about the two best scores, we refer to the two events in which the biker has achieved a higher number of points. Each event awards a greater or lesser number of points depending on its prestige. For that reason, the best scores won’t always be the best results [placings] during the year.

The Gravel Earth Series scores events differently, based on the prestige and level of the event. There are three categories. The fastest rider at Gravel Earth races (14) receives 750 points, with Gravel Earth Global events (5) awarding 1000 points. The Gravel Earth Final (Ranxo) awards 1500 points to the fastest rider. Points decrease accordingly for all other finishing places. A Gravel Earth Champion title (as well as some cash) will be awarded to both male and female riders with the most points at the end of the season.
