During the COVID-19 pandemic Miss Costa Rica 2019, Paola Chacon, took up cycling to stay in shape, only to discover she has real cycling talent, earning top results at Gran Fondo Andrey Amador and other events in 2022.

The 30 year-old beauty queen, swimsuit model and fitness buff, with over 100,000 followers on Instagram and Facebook, finished first in the very competitive women’s 30-35 category at Gran Fondo Andrey Amador, as well as in the Trans Costa Rica MTB race. She also finished third in the 3-day Vuelta Master Kivelix race.

Chacon plans to continue her competitive cycling in 2023 and is training to try and win a second Gran Fondo Andrey Amador on Sunday, 12 February 2023 in the 100 kilometers long amateur race, expected to be the largest one-day cycling event in the history of Costa Rica.
