Over two thousand cyclists, and famous Didi The Devil, participated in the second edition of L’Etape Czech Republic by Tour de France in Prague on Saturday 11 June.

In one of the most competitive fields ever lining up for a L’Etape by Tour de France pro-am gran fondo race, it was last year’s runner up, 37 year-old Michael Kollert, who earned victory and stepped up to the top podium step.

On 136.8 kilometer long course including 1900 meters of vertical climbing, Kollert finished in 3:31:30 after outsprinting in Jonas Vojtech in the final meters. The pair had a lead of over three and half minutes on a star studded chase group of current and ex-pro riders, including Zdenek Stybar (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team).
The women’s race finished in the same order as last year with Martina Sablikova (3:48:08) scoring her second L’Etape Czeck Republic victory and Nikola Zdrahalova (3:48:28) once again finishing second.
