05/21/2022 UPDATE: United States Marshals and The Texas Rangers are actively hunting for Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, 35, who is charged with first-degree felony murder of Anna Moriah Wilson. Armstrong, is the live-in girlfriend and business partner of Colin Strickland, one of the top the gravel racers in the world. Court documents indicate a three-way love triangle likely existed between Wilson, Strickland and Armstrong, with Wilson and Strickland meeting secretly on the day of the murder.
A rising USA star in gravel cycling world who had traveled to Texas to compete in the Gravel Locos race was shot and killed in her friend’s home last week according to police reports just released.
A friend found Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson, 25 years-old, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in an Austin home shortly before 22:00 on Wednesday 11 May.

Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, which were unsuccessful, and Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wilson, who lived in Colorado, recently started gravel racing full-time and was having a stellar 2022 breakthrough season, notching up impressive wins at the Grasshopper Adventure Series, Rock Cobbler, Shasta Gravel Hugger, California Belgian Waffle Ride and the Sea Otter Fuego 80K event that is part of the nationwide Leadville Race Series.
She was also considering qualifying and competing in the first ever UCI Gravel World Championships expected to take place in late 2022.

“Our hearts are broken by the tragic passing of Moriah Wilson,” the Leadville Race Series posted on Twitter. “Her absence will leave an irreplaceable hole in our Leadville Family and in the entire sport of cycling. Our deepest condolences go out to those close to Mo as we mourn this difficult tragedy.”
Her death has been ruled a homicide by medical examiners and the Austin Police Department has identified a “person of interest,” saying Wilson was shot inside the apartment and not targeted at random.
