With the first three stages of the 2022 La Vuelta Espana starting in the Netherlands, amateur sportive riders will have two opportunities to ride the same stage routes from Breda and Utrecht as the Grand Tour pros.
A week before La Vuelta starts, on Saturday 13 August Sportive La Vuelta Holanda will leave from Breda to ride most of the 3rd Stage, a completely dead flat route with amateur cyclosportive riders covering 85, 115 or 165 kilometres.
On Sunday 14 August riders will race over the mostly flat 2nd Stage route from Utrecht to Utrecht. The only likely berg to conquer will be the Category 3 Alto de Amerongse climb about halfway through the 165 kilometre route. 85 or 115 kilometres routes are also available and all distances will have a neutralized rollout for the first 20 kilometres.
Starting bibs for both events are capped at 3000 and are certain to sell out. Over 600 riders have already signed up since the cyclosportives were announced in January.
