The UCI and its organising partner Golazo Sports have released the official 2022 UCI Gran Fondo World Series calendar of 27 amateur gran fondo events worldwide.  After dropping 7 events and adding 6 new ones, 21 events are returning for yet another season.    

New on the 2022 circuit are Gran Fondo Veracruz MEX, Neusiedlersee Radmarathon AUT, 66 Degrés Sud Cyclo FRA, Majka Days Gran Fondo POL, Tartu Rattaralli EST and Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challange UAE.  

Events dropping out of the series are Gran Fondo Australia AUS , Aristotles Gran Fondo GRC, Gran Fondo Bintan IDN, Gran Fondo Dnipro UKR, Gran Fondo Warsaw POL and Around Samcheok KOR.  Oddly, one of the oldest events in the series, Gran Fondo Charley Gaul ITA, is not listed on the 2022 calendar. 

Events returning for another year are Tre Valli Varesine ITA, Gran Fondo Coimbra POR, Amy’s Granfondo AUS (already cancelled), Gran Fondo Antalya TUR, Cyprus Gran Fondo CYP, Tour de Brisbane AUS, Gran Fondo Rio de Janeiro BRA, Gran Fondo Vosges FRA, Cheaha Challenge USA, Schleck Granfondo LUX, Granfondo Moscow RUS, Tour Cambridgeshire GBR, Niseko Classic JPN, Maraton Franja SVN, Vélo.Victo.Fest. CAN, Cache Utah Gran Fondo USA, Gran Fondo Isle of Man GBR, Tour Lakeland FIN.

Also, exact dates have yet to be confirmed for Gran Fondo East Sarajevo BIH, possibly a second version of Gran Fondo Coimbra POR and the Gran Fondo World Championships taking place in Trento ITA – still expected for September.

Cyclists finishing in the top 20% in their age category at a UCI Gran Fondo World Series event qualify to attend the annual Gran Fondo World Championships.
