For the second year in a row the world’s oldest and largest week-long amateur gran fondo stage race, TOUR Transalp, has been cancelled by the organiser due to the ongoing pandemic.
“Europe’s favourite racing bike stage race will unfortunately not take place this year. For the sake of everyone’s health, we have decided to cancel the seven-day race through the highlands due to the still challenging global pandemic development.”
The race had planned to start in Bruneck, Italy in the Southern Tyrol region on 26 September and take up to 1000 riders into the heart of the Dolomites for an unforgettable 7-day gran fondo racing experience.
A 2022 TOUR Transalp date has already been set, June 19-25, although the location and route have yet to be confirmed.
