Postponing La Ronde Castraise cyclosportive from springtime to autumn due to COVID did not hurt attendance this year, in fact the 20th edition of the famous French cyclosportive race had over 900 participants.
As a final challenge during a difficult year, riders were eager to ride over the magnificent landscapes of Sidobre and Haut Languedoc in the Midi-Pyrenees region east of Toulouse.
With cool temperatures and long shadows at the start, riders quickly warmed up on the first climb, Sidobre, as they headed out from Castres on the 140km La Castraise gran fondo course with 2100m total vertical ascent or the 86km La Sidobre medio fondo course with 1330m total vertical ascent.
