The 3-day climbing-fest known as the Trilogy Maurienne Cyclo’Tour Rotor in the French Alps got underway Saturday 1 August under beautiful sunny alpine skies.  144 riders lined up to grind their way up the famous Tour de France climbs of Croix de Fer and Col du Mollard.

At the end of the first day it was French rider Morgane Coston claiming the women’s QOM title with fellow countryman Bruno Morel taking the KOM as the fastest man to ascend the two climbs.
