UCI Gran Fondo World Series races continue to cancel in the wake of growing coronavirus concerns. UCI Schleck Granfondo, UCI Macedonia Gran Fondo and UCI Gran Fondo Suisse are the latest to call-off their events.
Hosted by the brothers Schleck, Andy and Frank, the Schleck Granfondo scheduled for 16 May in Luxembourg has been cancelled. It plans to return in 2021.
Greece’s Macedonia Gran Fondo on 24 May has been called-off as well, but be back in 2021.
The first edition of Gran Fondo Suisse in Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland will now be in 2021 instead of 28 June this year.
10 UCI GFWS races have been cancelled due to coronavirus, with 13 remaining before the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in September in Canada. For the time being, the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships are moving forward as planned – albeit for fewer participants.
