Amateur cycling team E-Powers won the inaugural 2020 E-Giro gran fondo on Hungarian E-Powers bikes created by Istvan Vargas, the guy who started mechanical doping by selling hidden motors to amateur and professional riders.

With geriatric ex-Pro riders Davide Rebellin and Andrea Tafi leading the charge at the E-Giro, the victory supercharged the team and things looked positive. So positive they decided to form a 2020 UCI Professional Continental team to race the real Giro d’Italia powered by riders – not batteries.

Unfortunately, their shocking “Go Pro” idea is now dead – powerless, dead as a battery.
Today the E-Powers Continental team is without any 2020 sponsors, leaving riders and staff shocked and without a job after agreeing to join the team.
There is still a trickle of hope the amateur team will continue as an gran fondo e-bike team in 2020, racing e-gran fondos including the E-Giro and Italian E-Bike National Championships.
