Trouble sometimes arrives when you least expect it, like on a fun Sunday morning bike ride, errr social media publicity stunt, for Lance Armstrong and George Hincapie in Aspen, Colorado.
Hincapie and Armstrong have been filming The Move podcast in Aspen, covering each stage of the 2019 Tour de France with racing commentary and humor. Along the way, they decided to challenge race each other for fun on the last day of the Tour de France.
So, with a production crew filming (like KUWTK), Armstrong and Hincapie started their “race” Sunday morning on the streets of Aspen, before continuing on the Aspen Fifty mountain bike gran fondo course.
Soon, police received a call from an Aspenite resident about a camera vehicle recklessly driving near racing cyclists.
Police investigated, following up with Armstrong’s production crew driver, but did not issue any citations.
The Aspen Times reported receiving an email from the resident saying the race “almost took out my twin dogs and houseguests.”
Afterwards, Amstrong told The Aspen Times, “If something inappropriate happened, I would be apologizing profoundly. I got no idea.”
Official Armstrong- Hincapie race results are pending.
