Glasgow, Scotland will host the first edition of the International Cycling Union (UCI) Combined World Championships in 2023 – including Gran Fondo events.
The new Combined “Mega” World Championship format was approved by the UCI governing body with the aim of holding the event every four years, prior to an Olympic year.
The Championships will feature 13 cycling disciplines in one venue over 17 days in September. Get ready for Gran Fondo, road, cross-country, marathon, downhill, velodrome track, BMX, artistic/cycle-ball and Para-cycling events.
Galsgow expects 2700 Pro/Elite athletes, 6000 amateur athletes (including 3000 gran fondo riders) and over 700 journalists.
Wow! That’s a lot of cycling packed into one place. Better make your hotel reservations now if you want a non-smoking room.
